Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is exploring the feasibility of a variety of strategies for providing adequate space to support a growing high school student population and enhance learning opportunities for students. Strategies being evaluated include the development of a second comprehensive high school, as well the development of multiple high school sites as a part of a connected network. To accommodate the needed expansion, ACPS seeks expressions of interest from owners of properties capable of accommodating one or more of the following potential requirements:
). A fee simple interest in a minimum of 20 contiguous acres of land within the limits of the City of Alexandria. The land must be free of any and all liens or encumbrances and delivered vacant of tenancies and available for immediate acquisition.
). A fee simple interest in 4 or more contiguous acres of land within the limits of the City of Alexandria. The land must be free of any and all liens or encumbrances and delivered vacant of tenancies and available for immediate acquisition.
). A fee simple interest in an existing building of at least 300,000 rentable square feet within the limits of the City of Alexandria. The building must be free of all liens and encumbrances, delivered vacant or shall be vacated within the next 12 months.
). A fully serviced lease of 100,000-150,000 rentable square feet within the limits of the City of Alexandria. The space must be available within the next 12 months. The offered space must be contiguous in a single building, include ground floor premises, and provide at least 100 reserved (non-stacked) parking spaces.
). The potential for partnership in new development that could result in a minimum designation of 100,000 developable square feet for high school space and completed within the next five years.
